I swear I see dill in there, too!

Could you please send me the details of how to renew my subscription. My husband is having difficulties in trying to make a payment. Many thanks.

We left the Lot yesterday after a month. First 2.5 weeks cold wet and windy. Last 1.5 baking hot. In that way that only stone villages get. House stayed as cool as we could make it. Perfect for lying around in. A torment for preparing anything other than basic meals or packing up 4 weeks of stuff to head home. Heading back to Melbourne winter now. Very much looking forward to making a Boeuf Carbonnade. Have decided it will be my first winter dish. Keep your chin up and think about how much good all that delicious cucumber salad is doing you. 😊

I wish I could still get chicken carcasses, the butcher used to give me them but that was moons ago.

Love salads like this in our humidity. I’ll be bookmarking this one.

We basically eat some form of cucumber salad almost every evening when it gets hot!

This entire piece feels like stepping into a shaded kitchen in southern Europe. Lovely!

Debora, a word of warning: recommending a bucket of "cold, cold water" could kill someone. Putting one's feet in cold water chills the blood that is circulating through the body, hence the immediate feeling of relief. But if it cools off too much that chilled blood can shock the heart. And there you go - or were. Ideally the water should be cool but not cold.
